Ever wonder what kind of thought process goes into selecting the music we sing in corporate worship? The other day I wrote out some things that went into my decision for the set list we used this past Sunday. You can check it out here.
I’m always thankful for the opportunity to lead our congregation in singing praise to our God, but am even more thankful that the man who does this most weeks consistently models a thoughtful approach to worship leading and song selection. Robert will be back this Sunday!

I recently attended the Christmas Worship and really enjoyed it. As I always do at SSBC. I talked to Robert there and told him a song he needed to look up but have been unable to find an email address for him on the website to send him a link. I’ve been reading some of the posts… and I am just curious as to why it seems there are alot of songs which are classic OLD hymns, but it is chosen to do a NEW edition of it.. which generally changes the arrangement, or music style to the point where the older generation has a harder time following the music, or singing in harmony.
The song i wanted Robert to hear is on you tube. It’s Declare His Glory and it is the PRESTONWOOD version.
Thanks.
